Senior Pastors

With the ever growing diversity in worship style and worship philosophy there has never been a greater need to have Senior Pastors and Worship Pastors on the page as there is today.  Senior Pastors will have an opportunity to learn from some of the finest Senior Pastors in the country.

Dr. Thomas Jamieson

Dr. Thomas Jamieson has served as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Mount Dora, FL since 2007. He desires to see people have a relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for worship.  Earlier, he served through the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association helping to set up and conduct their largest crusades. Dr. Jamieson has served as a missionary to Hungary, a Youth Pastor, a Music Minister and a Pastor.  He attended New Orleans Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages.  Later, he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Doctorate in Philosophy and met his beautiful wife Sheri.  They have three children:  Ellie (11), Ethan (9), and Evan (3).

Dr. Clayton Cloer

Dr. Clayton Cloer is the pastor of the 2,400 member First Baptist Church of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. Cloer has a BS in Management from Clemson University, and received his M.Div. in 1995 and Ph.D. in 2000 from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. 

Dr. Cloer has served as Pastor of Highland Baptist Church in Senatobia, Mississippi, Executive Associate Pastor of Kirby Woods Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, and as Director of Development and Communications and Adjunct Instructor at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is known for his uncompromising stand on Biblical issues, Bible preaching, visionary leadership, and strong defense of the Christian faith.  In addition to serving as President of the Florida Baptist Convention’s 2009 Pastors’ Conference, Dr. Cloer served as Pastoral Leader for Yes2Marriage.org Campaign for Florida in 2008.  He served as a member of the Florida Baptist Convention State Board of Missions from 2007-2013 and was the leader of the ReVision Task Force for the State Board of Missions from 2011-2013.  

He has preached extensively throughout the United States in college chapels and revival meetings, and has led church development, leadership training, and evangelism teams to Paraguay, Yemen, Belgium, China, South Korea, Moldova, Israel, Tanzania, and Thailand.

He and his wife, Linda, have two sons, Nathan and James.

Dr. Tommy Green

On May 29, 2015, Dr. J. Thomas Green, III, was elected as the 10th executive director-treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention.  Tommy Green, as he is known by friends and family, formerly served as the senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Brandon, Florida, for 19 years.  Under Dr. Green’s leadership, the church doubled its membership and served as a pacesetter among Florida Baptist churches in evangelism outreach and annual baptisms. The church’s commitment to missions is reflected in their Cooperative Program giving, which averages ten percent annually, in addition to contributions made to the Great Commission Giving emphasis.  Tommy and Karen Green have been married since August 17, 1979, and have three grown children and three grandchildren –Fisher, Lyla and Ransom.
