This track will offer quality instruction by professional technicians who understand the dynamics of music and worship in the local church.  You’ll learn the “nut & bolts” of audio, lighting, video, and graphic generation in the worship setting.  Opportunities will be provided for “hands-on” training as well as “over the shoulder” observation during concerts and worship.

 

Jamie Miley

Tom Stanziano

With 20 years of experience in the lighting industry, Tom has worked with Celebrity and Disney Cruises. In Nashville, he worked as a lighting designer for Opryland USA Theme Park and Technical Director at The Renaissance Center.  In 2001 Tom moved to Houston, TX to be a part of Lakewood Church and Joel Osteen Ministries.  Tom was able to be a part of the lighting design team with veteran Bill Klages and served as lighting director for over 8 years. In 2008, Tom moved from behind the lighting console to be a Product Specialist with Seachanger where he was able to work with many theaters, churches, studio, and live performance venues on the values of dichroic color mixing.

His current appointment with Philips Entertainment allows him to impact the Entertainment market by demonstrating and speaking on the proper use of lighting techniques.

Lighting Design for the Worship Market: The Basics - A beginner's guide to starting the lighting process in Worship Market.  This session will provide an excellent introduction for anyone taking their first steps into worship lighting: Includes understanding power requirements, fixture types, placement, and the importance of lighting in a worship setting. Using Color to enhance the Worship Experience: 60 - 90 minutes - This session will explain techniques in using color to enhance church productions Using color allows the ability to tell a story while creating harmony or visual interest in our space.  The importance of positioning, concept, application, color, texture, and psychology will be discussed.
